Le Cat du Awesomeness

I love this cat so much.. words cannot express.
Just look at that gorgeous thick fur!
*swoon*

Moses Mabida Stadium sand sculpture

Seen on Durban's beachfront... these dudes are sooo talented.
The whole beachfront area is becoming unrecognisable... wish I'd taken pics before the changes started. Looks like it'll be great once it's done though.

MOAR music!

Really digging the electro/dance vibe these days...
The Bloody Beetroots are an Italian electronica and dance music duo. They wear Venom masks while performing, which is a bit odd but also kinda cool (see some interesting info on the Venom masks here if you don't know what they're about).
Apparently the aim of their music is "to bring punk rock aesthetics into clubland and the electronic medium.". Ok then. It doesn't sound much like punk rock to me... my description would be dirty, glitchy, electro dance. I love it. Have a listen on their MySpace page. My faves are Have Mercy On Us, Storm and Warp 1977. Their album can be downloaded here.

Steve Aoki is an American club DJ, record producer and the founder of Dim Mak Records. Apparently, his dad, Rocky, once said that he had 'three kids from three different women at exactly the same time'. Um... woah. Dim Mak Records has also released music by other electro house artists such as MSTRKRFT, The Bloody Beetroots, Klaxons, Scanners, Whitey, Mystery Jetsand Mustard Pimp. Nice. Steve's a cool guy. Apparently, he has also become an accomplished painter, although I wasn't able to find any of his work. Listen to his beats here.
Anyway... His album is cool, but other mixes I've seen on the net that he's done with other people are much cooler.

Such as this one below, a colab with The Bloody Beetroots. The video's pretty cool...

New music to my ears

I recently came across the Swedish band Miike Snow, and I'm hooked.
They started in 2007 and consist of 3 dudes: Andrew Wyatt, Christian Karlsson and Pontus Winnberg. Their debut album was released in May last year. Their sound is very interesting... My fave song, Animal, has a fun, folky, indie sorta sound, but then other songs on the album remind me of bands like Anathallo, Owl City, Ok Go.. and a few other bands that I can't quite put my finger on. I think it's a good mix. There's also a bit of electro and funk kinda vibes going on in some songs... Have a listen on their MySpace page.
My fave tracks are Animal, Cult Logic, Burial, A Horse Is Not A Home (how awesome is that song title!) and In Search Of.

OH, would you look at the time!

Nixon watches are überawesometastic. Yes, they're so cool they deserve their own coolness word.
Drool over these.
I'd love that one with the wood look.
*drool*
That is all.
